The Abington Percussion Theater
Proudly Presents:

Our 2008 production “POP!” promises to be a fun and exciting journey into the world of today’s popular culture! Always fun, sometimes daring, and even relevant, these are the sights and sound that define our generation. We will even look back in our “POP” history!
“We feel its very important to re-invent ourselves from year to year and bring our audience a new look and new sound.” said APT Director Tony Perez. “We enjoy our reputation for being different, daring and even a little crazy!”

“We were so excited when the staff told us what the show was this year!” said senior ensemble leader Dan Fisher. “I have always loved the shows we have performed, but this one is going to be even better because its all fun music that everyone will know from the moment they hear it. Most of this is in my I-Pod already! I cant think of a more fun way to end my drum line career at Abington!” Fellow percussion leader Lizz Craig agreed stating “This show will be so much fun because the music is already exciting before we even play it! In the past, I grew to love all of our music, but a lot of it was stuff I had never even heard of. THIS is all stuff I already listen to and I can’t wait to make it connect with my teammates and eventually, the audience!”

“No matter what material we play, we always hope to have some type of emotional response from the audience. Our primary goal is first and foremost PERFORMANCE. The staff and I felt that this drum line is finally ready to take on a show this charismatic and exciting in its content. Every year these young people do themselves, our school and our town proud and this year we look forward to bringing the fun and excitement of “POP” to everyone who sees it!

The Abington Percussion Theater is a Scholastic Open class marching percussion ensemble competing in the Mid-Atlantic Percussion Society, and a Scholastic World unit in the Tournament Indoor Association. See the schedule page for show dates and more information!
